Dr. Cieplak graduated as a top honors student from the University of Maryland Dental School–class of 1983. He also concurrently trained at Johns Hopkins and Mercy Hospitals for sedation dentistry. While in dental school, he received the Anesthesiology Award for outstanding work in dental anesthesiology.
Sharon has been with Cieplak Dental Excellence for over 10 years, and is responsible for making sure our patients receive the highest level of customer service. She achieved Fellowship status through American Association of Dental Office Management (FAADOM) in 2017 – a professional distinction recognizing her skills and leadership in the industry as the best of the best. Sharon was nominated for AADOM’s Practice Administrator of the Year, and was awarded AADOM’s Practice Administrator of Distinction in 2018 and 2019. In 2019, she became a Certified Dental Specialist in OSHA (CDSO) and went on to achieve Mastership status with AADOM (MAADOM) in 2020. The Mastership achievement recognizes outstanding professional and educational achievements in dental practice administration and is awarded only to those who have completed rigorous requirements set forth by AADOM. In 2021, Sharon earned Diplomate status with AADOM (DAADOM), a designation which is considered the ultimate achievement in dental office management. Sharon has been married for over 30 years, is the mother of three sons and grandmother of three. In her spare time, she holds the office of secretary with her local volunteer rescue squad as well as office of secretary with the Charles County Association of EMS, and volunteers with Special Olympics Maryland.
Kandyce is our Practice Supervisor. She joined Cieplak Dental Excellence in January 2013, and has more than 10 years of experience in general dentistry. Kandyce joined our team as a dental assistant, and in January 2017 she was promoted to our Clinical Supervisor. After three years overseeing our clinical area, she was promoted to Practice Supervisor – overseeing both the clinical and business areas. Kandyce enjoys interacting with not only our staff, but with our patients as well. She takes pride in building relationships. Our patients love her and often ask for her just to say hello! Outside of the office, she loves to spend time with family, participate in charity events and read.
Nikki D. has been a dental assistant since 2014, and obtained her Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification in 2016. She finds working as a dental assistant to be very rewarding, and really enjoys seeing people’s smiles transform. She has been a lifelong Southern Maryland resident and spends most of her free time with her children. During the summer, you can usually find her on the river!
Pauline has been a dental assistant since 1997 and has over 24 years of experience. She loves changing patients’ lives through dentistry, and enjoys bringing happiness with her extensive dental knowledge. Our patients appreciate her warm manner, gentle touch and infectious laugh. Pauline lives in the Southern Maryland area and loves to spend time with her family making memories.
Kelly has over 25 years of experience in the dental field, bringing with her extensive skills as an oral surgery assistant, dental implant coordinator and tons of OSHA knowledge! Kelly is married and lives in Calvert County with her family. She loves cooking, building custom fishing rods, boating, fishing and anything outdoors with her family and friends.
